First Congress of the Kurdistan Writers Federation Held in Germany


On July 25, 2026, the city of Düsseldorf, Germany, hosted the First Congress of the Kurdistan Writers Federation-Diaspora under the patronage of President Masoud Barzani and in the presence of Shafa Barzani, General Supervisor of the Kurdistan Diaspora. The event was attended by Shirin Zaki, President of the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women, and Darya Qadir Khoshnaw, a member of the federation's executive board. 

The holding of this congress is of great significance in preserving and developing the Kurdish language and literature in the diaspora, connecting writers abroad with cultural centers in Kurdistan, and utilizing the pen and writing to introduce the just cause of the Kurdish people to the world.
