The Kurdistan Diaspora Women’s Federation Condemns the Attack on the Residence of the President of the Kurdistan Region
As the Kurdistan Diaspora Women’s Federation, we strongly condemn the unjustified and cowardly attack on the residence of His Excellency Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, in Duhok Province. This destructive act is not merely an assault on a political figure; it is a futile attempt to destabilize the Kurdistan Region and sow chaos across the area.
We, the Kurdistan Diaspora Women’s Federation, declare that attacking the home of the President—who has consistently been recognized as a guardian of peace and national unity—is a violation of all red lines. This act carries a hostile message to every Kurdish individual, wherever they may be in the world.
This external aggression is clear evidence of a total disregard for and violation of all international norms and laws regarding the sovereignty of Kurdistan. Adversaries must understand that the land of Kurdistan is not a testing ground for weaponry or power struggles.
At this critical moment, we call upon the people of Kurdistan and all political forces to set aside their differences and unite around the Region’s constitutional status and its legitimate institutions. Internal division only paves the way for further external aggression. Furthermore, we urge global decision-makers and international bodies to break their silence. Silence in the face of such aggression risks destabilizing regional and international security.
We, the Kurdistan Diaspora Women’s Federation, pledge to present this crime to international centers and human rights organizations as an assault on the will of a nation. The status of the Kurdistan Region and the dignity of its leadership are integral to the dignity of every Kurd in the diaspora and the homeland alike.
Glory to Kurdistan, and shame to the enemies of peace and freedom.
