Leyla Qasim: The Symbol of Resilience and the Torch of Freedom for Kurdish Women
Today, with immense pride and honor, we commemorate a brave and tireless Kurdish daughter who, with her own blood, wrote a history of glory for all Kurdish women.
Leyla Qasim has become a school within the pages of history, teaching lessons of patriotism, perseverance, and the defiance of tyranny.
At a time when the occupying regime sought to break our people's will, Leyla Qasim walked toward the gallows with her head held high. She proved that Kurdish women are not only an inseparable part of the liberation struggle but are its pioneers and its backbone.
She welcomed death while singing the national anthem, “Ay Raqib", so that the generations after her could live in freedom.
As the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women, while we honor this national hero, we reaffirm that:
- Her Legacy Continues: Leyla Qasim’s struggle for freedom and equality inspires all Kurdish women in the diaspora who work far from the homeland to raise awareness for our people’s just cause.
- Preserving Identity: As women in the diaspora, it is our duty to educate the new generation of girls on the beliefs of Leyla Qasim, ensuring they never forget their identity or the history of sacrifice that defines them.
- Endless Struggle:Leyla Qasim taught us that while the body can be imprisoned, the spirit of freedom can never be silenced.
Leyla Qasim is not just a martyr of Kurdistan; she is the global identity of the free Kurdish woman.
We salute the pure soul of Leyla Qasim and all the martyrs on the path to Kurdistan's liberation.
Immortal Glory to the Martyr Leyla Qasim and all the struggling women of Kurdistan.
